. . . working together to build healthy communities by reducing substance abuse.

Healthy Community Coalition
Who we are . . .
Created in 1995, our coalition is dedicated to reducing substance abuse in Cape May County. More than 300 strong, our partners include law enforcement, students, educators, parents, faith leaders and business people. We bring community stake holders and civic leaders together to create and promote alcohol, tobacco and drug free environments for our children and youth.

The Healthy Community Coalition focuses on three initiatives to accomplish its mission:
Community Norms Initiative:
Working to change the way communities view alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse.  The coalition is a source for current information and promotes research based prevention practices and education.

Collaboration and Planning Initiative:
Assisting communities with prevention planning. The coalition provides skills, resources and technical assistance to groups, organizations, etc. developing and implementing programs and events.

Active Citizens' Leadership Initiative: Fostering citizen involvement in the community. The coalition strengthens our neighborhoods by increasing community attachment and encouraging partnership between local organizations and individuals.

The coalition accomplishes its initiatives through its various Networks. Click Networks on left to find out more!
